I JUST RAN IN 10-DEGREE WEATHER! What the what!? I really need to bring my workout clothes to
the office so I don’t have to do that again any time soon.
The boxer and I went out right before dinner. I knew once I ate, I’d find an excuse not to
go. So I put on three layers and a hat and
out we went. It was a pretty night, not
too much wind, but pretty chilly! I really wanted to get this over with so
guess what!? I ran my fastest mile at 13:41 (this is walking and jogging intervals).
I think I actually run a typical mile in 11:00 or so, but haven’t done
that in a while! I may run a straight
mile on the treadmill this weekend just to test it out. My nose was faaahhrreeezzziiinggg – otherwise
it really wasn’t too bad. I’m colder now
as I sit on the couch than I was outside running.
I am thinking about investing in running gear (tennis shoes and cold weather running gear). My tennis shoes are getting pretty old. I've also been looking into a running watch. Some of the bloggers I follow and my running friends all have them and love them! They track all workouts; including calories, pace, distance, speed, heart rate, and on and on. The watch syncs with your computer and you can run analytics on your development and fitness progress. I admit it, I'm a nerd, and that sounds so fun to me!
It has been a great week at work, I can’t believe tomorrow
is Friday. Here's a funny story - I have a team of 4. One of my team members is an avid runner. He probably runs more than 80 miles a week. Well he is just coming off running a few marathons, so he is taking a break. While he has been on his running hiatus - I've run 10 miles! So we have a huge whiteboard in the team office where I am tracking my miles vs his. So far it's 10 to 0! As soon as he starts back up, I'll be left in the dust - but this is fun while it lasts. I've committed to run in a 10k with him in the summer, he's holding me to it!
My entire Friday morning will
be full of meetings, and then we have a holiday lunch. One of my kiddos has a school Christmas program
in the afternoon, so I’m taking a half-day!
It will be nice to get a jumpstart on the weekend.
So the batteries on my scale are kaput. I haven’t been able to find replacements yet;
the scale takes the big flat circle batteries.
I’m going to keep looking; I really don’t want to have to buy a new
scale. Me not having a scale may be a
good thing – I’ve been weighing myself every morning and I am not
getting the results I have been wanting.
I am going to stick to my plan of only weighing once per week (Fridays) and keep
on keeping on during the rest of the week.
I don’t want to sabotage my motivation.
I also need to remind myself that it is not always about the
number on the scale. It’s about my measurements,
how my clothes fit, and how I feel. I’ve
noticed that my clothes are fitting more loosely! Some other positive changes – I am sleeping
better and have felt better in terms of mood.
Tried to capture my Rudolph nose, doesn't show in this pic - it was so cccccold!
Time to get ready for my day tomorrow – good night blogging peeps!
